Eric Xueyu Chen, PhD, MD

IND Committee Incoming Chair

Dr. Chen is the incoming chair of the CCTG IND committee, he is an oncologist and affiliate scientist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Professor in the Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.​ He completed internal medicine and medical oncology training at Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, and a Ph.D in clinical pharmacology from University of Manitoba. Dr. Chen participates in clinical trials evaluating new agents and treatment strategies for gastrointestinal cancers. Dr. Chen has authored or co-authored over 190 papers. 

Dr. Chen is the  CCTG chair of the monitoring and audit committee and chaired several CCTG clinical trials, including CO26, IND 177, and IND 187. 

Despite recent breakthroughs in cancer therapeutics, the majority of 
patients with advanced cancers will not be cured of their diseases. 
Early phase clinical trials help us to develop more effective drugs for these patients.
