CCTG at International Myeloma Society Meeting September 23-26

CCTG at International Myeloma Society Meeting September 23-26

It was great to see such a strong Canadian research presence at the International Myeloma Society (IMS) Annual Meeting, held September 23–26, 2026, in Glasgow, Scotland.

The CCTG MY13 study was highlighted from the podium during a session on optimal maintenance therapy. Presented by Dr. Pawlyn, the study was recognized for addressing important questions about current standards of care in multiple myeloma. The meeting also provided an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of Canadian researchers, with congratulations to Dr. Nizar Bahlis (University of Calgary), recipient of the 2026 International Myeloma Society Anderson Award. This well-deserved honour recognizes his contributions and international impact in multiple myeloma care and research.

CCTG research was further represented through two poster presentations: the TACtful trial and a MY13 trials-in-progress abstract. The full meeting concluded with Dr. Hira Miam, Co-Chair of CCTG’s Melanoma Working Group, presenting the final session highlighting the clinical advances and key findings from the 2026 annual meeting.

Together, these contributions highlight the strength and international reach of Canadian-led cancer research and the important role CCTG network investigators continue to play in advancing the field of multiple myeloma.
