Dr. Ralph Meyer Phase III Young Investigator Award Wednesday, April 29, 2026 CCTG is delighted to recognize the early career of Dr. Jelena Lukovic who was presented with the CCTG Dr. Ralph Meyer Phase III Young Investigator Award this past weekend at the Spring Meeting of Participants in Toronto. This award is given to an outstanding young investigator who is working on a CCTG Phase III clinical trial.She is the Canadian PI for the international NEEDS trial evaluating definitive chemoradiotherapy for squamous cell esophageal cancer. Dr. Lukovic is a Radiation Oncologist at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. She treats gastrointestinal, gynecologic, and endocrine malignancies. She has a Master of P Public Health from Harvard University, and her primary research interest is in organ preservation. She also sits on the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Gastrointestinal Subcommittee Task Force and additionally represents the Canadian Cancer Trials Group (CCTG) on the NCTN Diversity in GI Oncology Task Force. "I am honored to accept the Ralph Meyer award and I look forward to continuing to work on clinically impactful research and to improving outcomes for patients through high-quality clinical trials."
