An Australia, New Zealand and Canada research collaborative Wednesday, December 19, 2018 The Commonwealth Neuroendocrine Tumour (CommNETs) Research Collaborative hosted a Clinical Trial Workshop in Hong Kong December 8-9th 2018. Formed in 2015, CommNETs operates within the auspices of the Canadian Cancer Trials Group and the Australasian Gastro-intestinal Trials Group to bring together researchers, clinicians, and consumers from Australia, New Zealand and Canada to improve the outcomes of patients with Neuroendocrine Tumours (NETs). Historically, the CommNETs Annual Meeting has launched multiple projects which are outlined on their website: https://gicancer.org.au/health-professionals/commnets/. This year, nine clinical trial proposals were presented and four were developed upon in depth at the workshop which saw strong representation from each member nation. CommNETs brought together a diverse group of investigators, statisticians, patient representatives, medical surgical and radiation oncologists, endocrinologist and endocrine surgeon, allied health professionals, and individuals with expertise in health economics, correlative studies, medical physics, and patient reported outcomes. The workshop was highly successful in achieving its objective to advance NET clinical trial planning, and CommNETs looks forward to the continuation of this valuable multi-nation partnership working in the rare NET population.
