Wednesday, December 16, 2020 Everyone at CCTG would like to congratulate Dr Joseph Connors for his recent appointment to the Order of Canada, as one of 114 Canadian appointees “whose service has shaped our society; whose innovations ignite our imaginations; and whose compassion unites our communities.” Dr. Connors is an award-winning clinician scientist and recognized “for his contributions to the study and treatment of lymphoid cancers, and for his role in the advancement of lymphoma care in Canada.” A medical oncologist with BC Cancer from 1981 – 2018, his research focus was on lymphoid cancer, including Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, lymphocytic leukemia and myeloma. He was the Chair of the CCTG Hematology Disease Site Committee for many years and a long time supporter of the group and its work as well as an inspiring role model, mentor and teacher. Congratulations and well deserved!
