Wednesday, November 02, 2022 Français > NCI has provided a memo with additional information about Identity Proofing (IP) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for new user access to CTEP IAM accounts and CTSU websites. Links to the memos are available on the CTEP website. The memo for Canadian investigators is at the bottom of the page, under “Special Note for International Investigators.” These memos also will be posted to the CTSU website. ID.me Integration Memo to Canadian Research Staff Note d’information au personnel de recherche canadien sur l’intégration d’ID.me The NCI memo provides: Status of implementation across NCTN. To date, 5000 individuals to date have linked accounts. Additional information on personal data management Additional listing of ID documents Direction for new users who do not have the required information. These users should contact the CTEP Help Desk to request CTEP-IAM credentials to access NCI systems, and temporarily waive the requirement to set up an ID.me account. However, by July 1, 2023, CTEP-IAM usernames and passwords will not permit access to these systems in compliance with U.S. Federal regulations. Individuals without a Canadian passport, but who have a passport from another country, may use that document. MFA and IP are required by the US government executive order and requirements of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) found here. The standards for ID proofing and retention of information/documents are the same for US and ex-US individuals. To date, we have: Conveyed to NCI the Canadian investigator and staff concerns about providing identifying information and its retention, and that these concerns may limit enrolment of Canadian investigators and staff. Enquired whether NCI would consider an alternative process that meets the government's requirements. Reached out to investigators, research staff and other groups to understand in greater detail concerns and possible options. At this time, we have not identified such an alternative process acceptable to Canadian investigators, staff, and NCI. The process of development, approval, and implementation may not be feasible within the required time frame. However, as you move forward, please continue to convey your challenges/concerns to us as well as to other groups you may be members. We are available for meetings to discuss the issues and concerns and to hear alternative solutions to propose to NCI or to address your investigator and staff concerns. We will provide updates as the situation evolves. Thank you again for your efforts. CCTG Memo Sept 2022 Note de septembre 2022
