Wednesday, February 19, 2025 CCTG is heartbroken to share the news that, following a long and courageous battle, Suzanne Wood the GI patient representative has passed away. She died at hospital in Toronto with family by her side at the age of 48 on February 9, 2025.Suzanne Wood was diagnosed with Stage IV Colon cancer in July 2022 and joined the CCTG Patient Representative Committee in 2023. From the moment she began working with CCTG Suzanne made an impact through her advocacy and passionate support of clinical trials. Her dedication to the Patient Representative Committee was inspiring and her absence will be felt by her colleagues on the committee.Suzanne was an integral member of the GI Committee and will be missed by everyone who had the honour of working with her."Suzanne brought a commitment and enthusiasm to the GI Disease Site Committee in her role as Patient Representative, using her personal experience and perspective to ensure that clinical trials reflected the needs and desires of patients.
