Nanthini Tharahan receives the inaugural Excellence in Clinical Trials Conduct Award

We are very excited to announce that Nanthini Tharahan from the Princes Margaret Clinical Trials Support Unit has received the inaugural Excellence in Clinical Trials Conduct Award at the CCTG Spring Meeting. This award is presented to an individual who exemplifies excellence in clinical trial operations or compliance at their institution.

Nanthini completed her Post Graduate Degree-M.Phil by Research at University of Peradiya, SriLanka in 1999 and completed a Diploma in Clinical Research at Humber College, Toronto in 2000. She has worked at the Urology Health Center as Clinical Trial Coordinator and joined the Princess Margaret Clinical Trials Support Unit (CTSU) in 2002. She has over 20 years’ experience in oncology clinical research and is currently the Clinical Study Start-up Specialist since 2012. With over 10 years of trial start-up and activation experience she has worked on many CCTG trials, most recently:

  • In 2021: 10 CCTG trials (HNC2, IND238, MA40, GCC1, ME15, OV26, ENC1, CO29, SC26, HDC1)
  • In 2022: 5 CCTG trials (BRC8, CEC7, PR22, IND240, HD11)
  • In 2023: currently working on 5 CCTG trials in start-up (BLC5, IND243, IND241, EN10, MA41)
