Passing of Mr Russell Conley from AGITG

With sadness CCTG acknowledges the passing of one of our influential international research partners, Mr Russell Conley.  Russell was Chief Executive Officer of the Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group (AGITG) and the GI Cancer Institute for 22 years. He was instrumental in all of the growing list of CCTG and AGITG GI collaborations, including CO.17, CO.20, CO.23, CO.29, NE.2 as well as the Commonwealth Neuroendocrine Tumour Research Collaboration (CommNETs). Russell was diagnosed with advanced GI cancer in 2022 and his openness in sharing his personal journey with the GI cancer community is a testament to his unwavering commitment to finding effective treatments.

Russell Conley was the consummate professional and gentleman, perpetually collegial while advocating strongly for the AGITG. His CCTG colleagues will miss him greatly.
