Wednesday, February 20, 2019 A Canadian Cancer Trials Group update regarding the Protection of Human Research Participant Training In September 2018, the NIH Office of Extramural Research (OER) released that the current free Protecting Human Research Participant (PHRP) training course would no longer be offered and neither would an alternative. In alignment with the NIH, CCTG confirmed that the CITI Human Subjects Research Course is an acceptable option for Human Subjects Protection training as well as training courses developed and administered at the institutional level. Most recently, the US NCI announced the discontinuation of the requirement to complete Human Subjects Research Participant training for credentialing purposes. In an effort to align requirements, CCTG will discontinue requiring Human Subjects Protection training as of Feburary 14, 2019. All prior training records will be maintained, however Human Subjects Protection training will not be collected moving forward. Please send any questions to training@ctg.queensu.ca
