Diagnosis and Management of Patients with Lung Neuroendocrine Tumors Wednesday, October 07, 2020 CommNETs and NANETS Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Patients with Lung Neuroendocrine Tumors: An International Collaborative Endorsement and Update of the 2015 ENETS Expert Consensus Guidelines The Commonwealth Neuroendocrine Tumour Research Collaboration (CommNETs) paired with the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (NANETS) to produce best practice guidelines for the diagnosis and management of lung neuroendocrine tumours (LNETs). A systematic review and formal endorsement process involving experts from all major subspecialties, patients, and advocates was used to update the 2015 European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) expert consensus guidelines to include recent evidence and practice changes. These guidelines were considered a necessary update and global consensus to harmonize the variety of current guidelines across different neuroendocrine tumour societies. LNETs are uncommon cancers for which there is a paucity of randomized evidence to guide practice. The CommNETs and NANETs guidelines provide clear evidence-based statements for the approach to patients with LNETs based on the principles of person-centred and LNET-specific care.
