Wednesday, September 09, 2026 The BR.31 Phase III Prospective Double Blind Placebo Controlled Randomized Study of Adjuvant MEDI4736 in Completely Resected Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer has permanently closed. The purpose of this study was to find out whether it is better to receive a new drug, MEDI4736, or better to receive no further treatment after surgery (and possibly chemotherapy) for lung cancer. The published results indicated that adjuvant durvalumab did not significantly improve disease-free survival (DFS) compared with placebo in the primary study population. As a result, the study did not meet its primary endpoint, which was to demonstrate a significant improvement in DFS among patients whose tumours had a tumour cell PD-L1 expression of 25% or greater and were EGFR/ALK wild-type.
