Wednesday, August 14, 2024 CCTG is thrilled to welcome Lindsay Clarke, who will be supporting the Genitourinary Disease Site Committee as a Patient Representative. Lindsay Clarke is a registered nurse and mother who lives in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. She has a passion for caring for others and she has been volunteering with Prostate Cancer Canada (Cancer Canada) for the last 14 years. Prostate cancer is common amongst the men in Lindsay’s family, she tragically lost her father to prostate cancer in 2010, he was only 58 years old.Because of her father’s experiences participating in a clinical trial Lindsay says, “I want any person who is apart of a trial to know they are important, know that they have a voice. Patients should have the choice to be a part of clinical trials, so that maybe one day we can prevent others from suffering from the same disease."Lindsay is joining CCTG as a patient representative not only to honour her father, but also to work towards a better future for the men in her family who may be at risk, including her son. She will use her valuable insight to help patients become aware of the benefits of clinical trials and ensure they are happy and satisfied with their experience.
