Dr. Jolie Ringash, MD, MSc, FRCPC

CCTG Quality of Life Committee Co-Chair

Dr. Ringash is a Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Toronto. She is cross appointed to the Department of Otolaryngology Head Neck Surgery and to the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. She is the Co-Chair and medical lead of the Head and Neck Cancer Survivorship Programme supported by the Discovery Fund, and a staff radiation oncologist, at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Dr. Ringash co-chairs the Quality of Life (QOL) committee at the Canadian Clinical Trials Group (CCTG), and is a member of the NCI-Head and neck Malignancy Steering Committee.  She is also an international advisor to the Patient Reported Outcomes and Behavioural Evidence (PROBE) and Cancer Clinical Trials Pooling of Quality of Life Data (CATAPULT) projects at the EORTC, and a member of the international Setting International Standards of Patient-reported Outcomes and Quality of Life Endpoints in Cancer Clinical Trials - IMI (SISAQOL-IMI) consortium.

Her research interests include the QOL of cancer patients, cancer survivorship and rehabilitation, the interface between technology development and cancer outcomes, and the treatment of head and neck malignancies.

The theme of my research has been “High-Tech; high touch”.  All of the technology in the world does not matter
unless the patient feels that they have benefitted from a treatment or intervention.
